Applications EngineeringApplications and Development Engineering: When a customer has a need to seal a joint but does not know what material to use, our engineering department can assist. Our engineers will examine the specifics of your application. For example, we will inquire about the maximum pressure and temperature that the joint will experience, and also ask for the type and concentration of the media that needs to be contained within the gasket seal. Lastly, since gaskets function by compressing the material, we need to know how much compression the joint can supply when assembled. If the compression is not sufficient, we can often help by suggesting changes to the type, grade, and/or number of bolts.
Sometimes requirements are so unique that they warrant the development of an entirely new type of material. Thermoseal will chemically engineer a compound specifically to meet these types of demands. Our development team examines the application, determines the technical requirements, translates these requirements into physical properties, and formulates a compound that possesses the desired properties. A series of trials are performed to perfect the processing on the calendar, and then the product is ready for full scale production.
Thermoseal's devotion and commitment to new technologies allows us to continuously improve and advance our capabilities in existing and expanding markets.
